As always, the schedule is very tight (not necessarily for each individual - but certainly for the program as a whole) and needs to run like clockwork lest any lesson/event/concert should collide. The students are therefore obliged to make sure that they will arrive for their scheduled lesson/event in time and thus signal their arrival by knocking. For this, we ask your understanding and cooperation.
Lessons are in many cases scheduled neck to neck, the upside hopefully being that all artists and pedagogues will be able to enjoy some spare time together if desired. Similarly, most of you will utilize Fagernes Hotel for accomodation, thus ensuring the possibility for rest/social activities. Transportation will likewise be arranged, but we must urge anyone with special needs to signal these one day in advance due to a very hectic chauffeuring schedule. Your program and schedule for the festival will be available upon arrival at the hotel.
The concert program is otherwise of very high quality thanks to all of you, either by direct participation and/or by recruiting fabulous students. However, the concerts are potentially very long. The accompanists are therefore asked to keep track of the maximum alotted time slot for each level in the regular concerts (the youngest - 4min; up to age 16 - 8min; and masterclass-level - 12-14min), requesting no repeats, and deletion if necessary (e.g. where no specific selection from for example a song cycle is set).
And, importantly, for those of you arriving Norway from abroad, please notify Ingrid Lohne immediately if you need transportation to and from Valdres (post@sommersymfoni.no or +47 957 94 831). We apologize for these rather dry practical notifications, but we believe that advance preparation about the conditions you will face will be beneficial for everyone involved.
Thank you for your participation and excellence (and patience with our organization).
Best regards,
