Frida Siegrist Oliver (1998) earned her bachelor's degree at The Juilliard School, graduating with Academic Honors. She went on to pursue a master's degree with a specialization in orchestral music at Zurcher Hochschule der Künste, where she graduated "with distinction." From the age of 10 until she turned 18, she studied with Soon-Mi Chung at the Barratt-Due Music Institute. From the age of 10 until she turned 18, she studied with Soon-Mi Chung at the Barratt-Due Music Institute. At the age of 13, she was accepted into the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra's talent program, "Talentjakten," which is affiliated with Equinor's Morgendagens Helter, and to this day, she remains the youngest person to have been accepted into "Talentjakten." From 2013 to 2016, Frida participated in The Perlman Music Program, an international talent program for young musicians under 18 years of age, led by Itzhak and Toby Perlman. She has also participated in the Kronberg Academy in Germany on several occasions. At the age of 16, Frida was approved as a substitute in both the Oslo Philharmonic and Stavanger Symphony Orchestra.
From 2018 to 2021, Frida was a member of Konstknekt, a talent development program organized by Talent Norge, Olympiatoppen, and the Berliner Philharmoniker. Through Konstknekt, she had the opportunity to perform as an artist at the Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Vinterfestspillene in Bergstaden, and Rosendal Chamber Music Festival. While living in New York, she regularly worked as a substitute with the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra, and in 2018, she served as the principal violist in the Dell'arte Opera Orchestra. During her studies in Switzerland, she was invited to substitute as a solo violist with the Arctic Philharmonic and as a tutti violist with both the Philharmonia Zurich, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, and the Berliner Philharmoniker. She has given recitals at the Edvard Grieg Society in New York, the International Viola Congress in Rotterdam, Dextra Musica at Blaafarveværket, and Klanghotell Bergsonne in the Swiss Alps. Currently, she holds a contract as a tutti violist with the Philharmonia Zurich.
While studying in the USA, Frida served as an orchestra mentor for Juilliard Pre-college, assistant teacher in music theory at Juilliard, and taught viola/violin at the Elite Academy for Strings. She has previously taught at the Valdres Sommersymfoni in 2019 and 2021, as well as at the Ringerike Sommersymfoni since 2020.
