David Meier has excelled as a soloist in international competitions, performed with orchestras in Germany and the United States and participated in radio and several CD recordings. He is also a versatile educator and teaches piano at the Barratt Due Music Institute.
Meier was educated in Germany where he studied under Paul Buck and Konrad Elser. While training as a soloist in Lübeck, he taught piano at the Musik Hochschule Lübeck and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock.
He has performed with orchestras in Germany and the United States, and participated in several radio recordings and CD recordings. He has excelled as a soloist in the European piano competition Bremen, where he received both first prize, audience prize and three special prizes for his interpretations of Bach, Beethoven and contemporary music. Meier has also excelled in the international Schubert competition in Dortmund and in the international Beethoven competition in Bonn.
