Astrid Willumsen is a pianist, pedagogue and choir conductor from Hønefoss.
In 2017, she completed a bachelor's degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music. The same year, she received a scholarship from the Talent Fund Cell Division in Hønefoss. In the spring of 2019, she completed a master's degree in music pedagogy at the Norwegian Academy of Music, and now works as a piano teacher in the music department at Ringerike Videregående skole and Oppegård kulturskole next to her job as a freelance pianist. In addition, she conducts the women's choir Decibel.
She has worked with various concert and music education projects both at home and abroad and has in the last two years, in connection with the master project, traveled several times to India and Georgia to help establish and develop music teacher education there in collaboration with NMH.
Otherwise, Astrid has toured with over 30 performances for The Cultural Walking Stick in Ringerike, Gjøvik, Hamar and Stange with the concert «Mrs. Johnsen, Julie and Jacobsen», together with two singers and actors.
She is involved in projects at Crescendo, and has worked administratively with e.g. Young Philharmonic and Piano Conference in Bergen.
In 2018, she received Lindeman's Junior Scholarship from Alf Richard Kraggerud during Valdres Summer Symphony, for having made a name for herself as a young, promising music educator.
