Christian Krogvold Lundqvist picked up his first drum at the age of 4 and has been through a number of genres from pop and rock to jazz, classical and contemporary. The interest in a broad specter of musical genres reflects in his ability to master a number of percussional instruments; from jazz vibraphone to drum set, to orchestral instruments and the joy of making music with two cymbals.
After studying with Gordon Gottlieb and Daniel Druckman in New York at The Juilliard School, Christian secured the position as alternating principal percussionist in the Radio Orchestra in Oslo. He plays frequently with The Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra and other orchestras and ensembles. Christian has collaborated with artists like Maj Britt Andersen, Lars Saabye Christensen, Sondre Lerche and performed at festivals such as Rosendal Kammermusikkfestival, Risør Kammermusikkfest, Oslo Jazzfestival and Valdres Sommersymfoni. Christian has given master classes at the Norwegian Academy of Music and Toneheim Folkehøgskole.
