Øystre Slidre Sanglag, or rØyst, is a mixed choir with 40 singers from Valdres. The choir aims to perform at a high level and create interest for choir repertoire. It wishes to bring out the musical potential in each singer, to have a good community and sing a varied selection of choir music both alone and in collaboration with others. In 2019 the choir celebrated their 125 years anniversary and has through the years hired a number of well known conductors. Are Alund has been their conductor since 2018. rØyst has commissioned and arranged music by composers such as Javier Busto, Urmas Sisask, Ola Gjeilo, Henrik Ødegård, Andrew Smith and Frank Havrøy. The choir has performed at Valdres Sommersymfoni on several occations and is looking forward to a new musical collaboration in 2022.
