Victoria Putterman has a background as a violinist and since 2017 has worked as 1st violinist in the Opera Orchestra at the Norwegian Opera & Ballet. After observing David McVicar directing The Rose Cavalier at DNO&B, she was engaged as a director's assistant in the same house at Figaro's wedding. Since then she has been a director's assistant to Stefan Herheim in his production of Falstaff at KHiO and worked for Annilese Miskimmon at the English National Opera in her new production of The Handmaid's Tale. In 2021, she staged her first opera performance as a director, In the Penal Colony by Philip Glass at the Interpuls festival in Kulturkirken Jakob, Oslo.
