Benjamin Lund Tomter has received several first prizes in the “UMM” (norwegian youth music championship). He also reached the semifinals in NRK's competition Virtuos in 2018, And the final of the Fjord Cadenza competition.
As a soloist with orchestra, he has performed both Haydn's cello concertos and Schumann's cello concerto on several occasions. with orchestras such as 1B1, the Vivaldi Orchestra, the Foss Chamber Orchestra and the Oslo Symphony Orchestra, in Norway, Italy and Greece.
He is currently studying with Professor Torleif Thedeen at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Prior to this, he studied with Audun Sandvik at the Norwegian Academy of Music's talent development program and at the Barratt dues music institute. He has on various occasions played for some of the world's foremost cellists such as Jan Vogler, Christian Poltera, Alisa Weilerstein, Clemens Hagen, Natalie Klein and Miklos Perenyi.
Benjamin is a dedicated chamber musician and have been playing in youth programs such as Fjord Classics festival, Moritzburg Festival and Virtuoso and Belcanto. Also he regularly has professional engagements with the MIN ensemble in Norway.
