Henninge Landaas has her musical background from Trondheim Municipal Music School in the 1970s/80s, and continued her studies with Bjarne Fiskum in Trondheim and Magnus Ericsson at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.
Henninge Landaas was principal violist of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra for 18 years, and was also part of the internationally renowned Vertavo Quartet for a number of years, touring concert halls all over the world. Critically acclaimed CD recordings include works by Carl Nielsen, Brahms, Bartok, Grieg and Debussy, among others. With the Vertavo Quartet, Landaas received the Critics' Prize, the Spellemann Prize, and the prestigious Diapason d`Or in France.
Landaas is one of the founders of SSens Trio, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2024. She now tours regularly with them and makes CD recordings for LAWO Classics. The recordings have received excellent reviews in Classica (France), Fanfare Magazine and Pizzicato Magazine, among others. In 2020 they were nominated for the prestigious Opus Klassik Award in Germany.
She has also released a number of CDs on LAWO Classics with solo and duo repertoire, including Brahms' Sonatas for Viola and Piano with Tim Horton, Mozart/Brustad/Passacaglia with Elise Båtnes, and The Golden Hindemith with Bjørg Lewis and Vegard Landaas, among others.
Henninge Landaas plays a J.B.Guadagnini viola, on loan from Dextra Musica.
