KSO is a young and vibrant ensemble in strong development, consisting of 67 full-time musicians from 17 different nations.
Since January 2012, the orchestra has been based in the impressive concert hall of Kilden, one of Scandinavia's most remarkable acoustic venues, with seating for 1180 in the audience.
Here, audiences from across the southern part of Norway experience classical orchestra concerts, crossover productions, family concerts, and special events such as "Fædrelandsvennens Ønskekonsert", New Year's concerts, "Barnas Kildendag", and May 17th concerts.
KSO is one of the world's youngest professional symphony orchestras! It was first formed in 2003 after a merge between the former Kristiansand Chamber Orchestra and Forsvarets distriktsmusikkorps Sørlandet.
