Thormod Rønning Kvam is establishing himself as a pianist in the young, Scandinavian elite. Performances at London's Wigmore Hall, the Main Stage at the Norwegian Opera, Grünewald Hall at Stockholm Concert Hall, Harpa in Reykjavik, MUNCH, and at the Hardanger Music Festival are among the highlights of recent years.
In 2023, he was appointed an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music – an honor bestowed upon alumni who 'make a difference through their professional work.' He is the recipient of the Fegersten Work Grant for his upcoming debut album and recently received the prestigious Nils Larsen Scholarship for his international solo debut.
Thormod also has a strong commitment to renewing the classical music heritage – a mission he pursues as artistic director for the Aula Series, a chamber music initiative featuring concerts throughout the year in the University Halls in Oslo and Bergen and at the cultural destination Ramme in Hvitsten.
