Mariia Kostogryz is a Ukrainian violinist from Kharkiv. She began her musical education at the Kharkiv State Music Lyceum under the guidance of Lyudmila Varenina. In 2021, she started her bachelor's degree at the University of Music, Drama, and Media Hanover with Professor Ulf Schneider. Currently, she is continuing her studies as an exchange student at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo, where she studies with Alf Richard Kraggerud.
Mariia is the winner of the concerto competition at the Luzerne Music Center in New York, USA (2019). She actively participates in international masterclasses, including Astona International in Switzerland, Luzerne Music Center in the USA, and Verão Clássico in Lisbon. She has had lessons and masterclasses with distinguished musicians and professors such as Barbara Doll, Latica Honda-Rosenberg, Dora Schwarzberg, Mihaela Martin, Sonoko Miriam Welde, Guro Kleven Hagen, and Kirill Troussov. Mariia was awarded a scholarship from Musikförderung Klaus Thimm in 2024.
In addition to her solo career, Mariia is deeply engaged in chamber music. She has taken chamber music masterclasses with Professor Francis Gouton and Professor Boris Kusnezow. In 2024, she performed at the Rome Chamber Music Festival. Together with her sister, pianist Nataliia Kostogryz, she forms a family duo, and they have performed at IMAS 2024 and various chamber music concerts in Germany.
