Opus13 took home the first prize

Opus 13, the string quartet also participating in Valdres Sommersymfoni 2025, has won the first prize in the prestigious Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition 2025.

The Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition is a top-tier competition held every three years in London. It was first held in Portsmouth in 1979 and has been organized by Wigmore Hall since 2010. This competition attracts string quartets from all over the world and provides the winners with excellent career development opportunities.

In addition to the first prize (The Alan Bradley Memorial Prize), Opus13 also received the Bram Eldering 19th Century Prize for the best performance of 19th-century repertoire in the semifinals, the Haydn Prize for the best performance of a Haydn quartet in the qualifying round, the Mozart Prize for the best performance of a Mozart quartet in the qualifying round, the Esterházy Foundation Prize, and the Leeds International Concert Series Prize.
