Sonoko Miriam Welde's violin tones become the lark and we fly into Vaugham Williams' distinctive tonal landscape. Ravel's tone poem “La valse” brings us back to earth with all its contrasts.
But let there be no doubt, the concert has a happy ending: César Franck's masterpiece, the sonata in A major; one of the world's most played sonatas. Cellist Sandra Lied Haga, who recently made her Carnegie Hall debut, together with pianist Marianna Shirinyan will give the audience this masterpiece.
